Embracing Something New - Hot Foil Stamping
I’ve always loved the elegance that foiled lettering brings to a notebook. It’s a detail that really catches the eye and turns an ordinary object into something truly special—the way light catches a word or a small design, adding a hint of luxury and personality. Now, that touch of shine is coming to our notebook collection and I’m excited to give a little behind the scenes view and announce that I’m embracing something new!
I’m starting this new chapter by adding foil details to some of your most loved, classic notebook styles. These are the notebooks that are already staples for your to-do lists, your creative writing, and your everyday notes. I feel a unique kind of excitement that comes with learning something new, especially when it’s a skill you’ve been dreaming about for a while. For me, that is hot foil stamping.
I’ve added a new hot foil stamping machine and a beautifully crafted set of die cut letters in the Times New Roman font to the shop. I couldn’t be more excited to share you what it does.
The process feels a bit like a tiny, creative alchemy. We take our die cut letters of the custom text we want to create—and place it on the heated plate. A thin layer of metallic or colored foil is then placed over the surface of the notebook cover. With a gentle but firm pull of the press, the die descends, applying heat and pressure to the foil. In a matter of seconds, the foil transfers from its clear backing onto the material, leaving behind a crisp, shiny impression. It’s a moment of pure satisfaction when you peel away the backing to reveal a design that’s now a permanent, radiant part of the notebook.
This new technique is all about bringing a deeper level of craft and beauty to the products you already cherish. It’s about adding a special finish that makes your everyday items feel more personal and inspiring. I can't wait for you to experience the difference for yourself.
